Responsibilities: 

• Work closely with design & product to craft great product experiences
• Collaborate with peers and seniors within and across the teams
• Be an expert in the languages, system components, and concepts of web applications: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, web browsers, HTTP, content delivery networks
• Be an expert in the tools and processes needed to build, deploy, and manage web applications: IDEs, linters, continuous integration, containerization 
• Be an expert in PayPal-specific components, services, and software development lifecycle that every web engineer at PayPal relies upon 
• Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
• Identify and document best practices

Requirements: 

• Proficient in client & server-side JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, React.js, Redux and webpack
• Competent in developing Node.js applications and building single-page web applications using React.js
• Solid understanding of core JavaScript concepts
• Experience with page optimization and page load time
• Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web
• Experience in developing automated unit and functional tests
• Experience in the agile development process
• Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns
• Have a passion for quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• 2-4 years of experience in software design and web application development 
• BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science
• Experience with front and backend test frameworks
• Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
